How it works

Create one packet from a mixture of Word documents and PDFs. The existing Word-only workflow accepts DOCX inputs; this task also accepts existing PDFs, so you do not need to convert or upload them again between stages. Word documents keep their own page setup, while existing PDF pages are copied at their original sizes.

Check your result

  • Compare converted Word tables, pictures and page breaks with the original documents.
  • Check the first page of each file to verify the combined order.
  • Check that visible filled PDF form values survive the merge and that every expected page is present.

Supported files and limits

The browser Word converter supports DOCX text, images and tables, but produces image-based pages. Fonts and layout can differ from Word. Unsupported charts, SmartArt and other complex content stop conversion. Use the original editor when exact layout is required. Accepts 2–20 DOCX/PDF files, up to 50 MiB each, 100 MiB total and 300 final pages. Legacy DOC and encrypted documents are not supported. Existing PDF form fields are flattened; bookmarks and document-level settings are not retained. The result is one PDF, not a merged editable Word document.

Will existing PDF pages also become images?

The existing PDFs are copied into the combined document without rasterizing their pages. DOCX inputs use the browser Word converter, which creates image-based PDF pages with supported links. Check those converted pages before sharing. No compression step runs in this workflow.
