Convert a DOCX with tables to PDF

Convert Word tables in the browser and review long rows, borders and page breaks in the image-based PDF.

Tables are more demanding than plain paragraphs because column widths, merged cells and page breaks interact. This workflow is for a DOCX that already contains the table; PDFPilot does not provide a table editor. The browser renderer includes supported tables, but its pagination is not the same engine used by Microsoft Word.

Follow this workflow

  1. Save a DOCX copy with the intended page size and table widths. If the document originated elsewhere, inspect that exported DOCX first.
  2. Select the document in Word to PDF. Keep the original file available so you can compare the first, middle and last table rows.
  3. Convert and expand the page previews. Pay particular attention to tables that continue across pages and unusually tall cells.
  4. Download and inspect the PDF in a viewer. If rows are clipped or pagination is unacceptable, adjust the source table or export directly from the original editor.

Check the downloaded result

  • All columns and the final row are present.
  • Borders, cell shading and merged headings are understandable.
  • Page breaks do not separate content in a misleading way.

When to use another export method

This creates a visual PDF, not an accessible or searchable table structure. Use the original editor’s export when tagged tables, selectable text or exact Word pagination are required.

Can I copy table cells from this PDF?

Not as a native table from this browser output: pages are images. Keep the DOCX or use a native editor export when text extraction is required.
