Export PPTX charts and SmartArt safely to PDF

Choose a safe export path when a presentation includes charts, SmartArt or other content the browser converter cannot render.

A converter should not report success after silently removing the most important chart on a slide. PDFPilot’s browser renderer rejects supported categories of known unsupported content instead of promising a faithful chart export. This workflow helps you decide whether to simplify a copy or use the original editor; it is not a claim of chart support.

Follow this workflow

  1. Inspect the source deck for charts, SmartArt, video and embedded objects. Do not rely on a filename or file size to identify these features.
  2. Use the original editor’s PDF export when you need its complete visual appearance. Review static PDF output because animations and interactive content are not the same as a slide show.
  3. If you deliberately simplify a copy, replace complex objects with static pictures in the source editor and clearly retain the original presentation.
  4. Convert only the compatible copy in the browser, then compare every altered slide. Check labels, legends and data values as well as the picture outline.

Check the downloaded result

  • No chart, legend or data label is missing.
  • A static picture is acceptable for the intended recipient.
  • The original editable chart and presentation remain available.

When to use another export method

Do not remove an error guard to force a download. PDF is a static document workflow here; video playback, animations and editable chart data are not promised.

Can I ignore the unsupported-content error?

No. Use native export or deliberately prepare a compatible copy and review it. Retrying unchanged unsupported content does not establish correctness.
